you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:

Launch - Note from the Author

. . . In Always the One, book 4 in the series, we get Derrick’s story. He lost the woman he loved years ago, but then fate brings them together. He should be excited, right? But Hannah isn’t exactly welcoming, with good reason. Still, he’s a Matthews and won’t quit until he convinces her they belong together. Will they find their happily ever after? Not only do we get that answer, but a recap of the Matthews clan as well.

I hope you enjoy Derrick and Hannah’s story.

—Tara

"This is a fast paced and well written story with a bit of romance and mystery. The characters are genuine and easy to like. I enjoyed reading Always The One, and I highly recommend it for romance readers. I look forward to more Harlequin Heartwarming tales!"

She closed her eyes and groaned. “I don’t want any more help from government agencies.”

“Then how about from an old boyfriend?”

It would be so easy to fall into his arms. Let him carry the burdens she’d been laboring with for so long. Go back to the days when the biggest decision she had to make was what color lip gloss to use or which jeans to wear. As much as she might want the reprieve, it wasn’t possible. This was her reality now. Not glamorous or flashy, but she had a good job. A few friends she trusted. Her mother would get well. She had to.

"Always the One by Tara Randel is a heartwarming story of second chances and new beginnings. . . . a perfect blend of appealing characters, romance, and light suspense. . . . I enjoyed Always the One very much and look forward to many more stories from the pen of Tara Randel."

"As Tara Randall usually does, the reader is kept eagerly turning from one page to the next in this romantic, suspense/mystery novel. . . . This is an intense, steadily flowing, poignant romance/mystery. The characters are endearing and defined well. . . . There are several twists which keeps it quite unpredictable. It is well-written and touching."

". . . a romance with a little mystery. I enjoyed how Derrick and Hannah find each other again. They were childhood sweethearts that got separated. . . . I enjoyed this book, which can be read as a stand-alone."

Heidi Reads... - Excerpt

“You’re unbelievable,” she muttered through clenched teeth.

“So I’ve been told.”

She blew out a breath. “Derrick, you can’t stay here.” She looked down at her finger. “It’s complicated.”

“You keep telling me that, but, put simply, I want to help.”

She met his gaze, heat flashing in her eyes. “No one asked you.”

He shrugged. “Never stopped me from inserting myself anyway.”

“Fine. Suit yourself.”

"Always the One was another great book by Tara Randel. . . . This book kept me happily wanting to read more. . . . Always the One by Tara Randel was a clean contemporary adult romance full of the ups and downs of love. If you enjoy books full of past love pushing its way back to the present then you will adore this read."

"A sweet romance full of mystery, memories and love everlasting! . . . The story line caught my attention quickly and I enjoyed watching them reconnect. . . . I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet reunion story with a hint of danger and intrigue thrown in."

"I LOVED it! . . . The characters and story drew me in right away. . . . Tara Randel did a terrific job with this one. While part of the series, this easily stands on its own. . . . Not only was this “heart-warming”, it was heart-breaking, endearing, and beautiful."

E-Romance News - Excerpt

She reached the end of the circuit, studying the grouping. As she moved closer to get a better look at one piece in particular, she noticed a couple on bicycles racing off from the group of friends. A memory flashed in her mind, reminding her of the times she and Derrick would leave their friends to ride their bikes to the beach. Truth be told, they’d had more fun when it was just the two of them, heading off on one adventure or another.

A nostalgic smile curved her lips. They’d had the best times. But that was so long ago, before events had thrown them a curveball.

"The characters in the novel were both likable and believable people. . . . Overall, I thought the novel was a nice cozy romantic read."

"I felt there was a strong balance of emotional drama combined with realistic suspense . . . What I appreciated was the quickening pace - how Randel started things off a bit slower but then gained a lot of momentum as she was disclosing how to connect Derrick with Hannah and vice versa."

"Randal has pulled me into the story from the beginning to the end and I loved the suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out who done it. . . . This is a book I highly recommend if you want an excellent read. It is chalk full of mystery, romance not too heavily overdone and second chances. I promise that it will keep you glued to wherever you are at until the book is finished. I sighed happily after it was finished."

Remembrancy - Review

"Always the One may be my favorite second chance with your first love book I’ve read yet. . . . There’s something about falling so hard and deep in love at a young age, a love that stands the test of time and separation, that gives me all the feels."

"Randel’s smooth and engaging writing style, combined with layered characters & a dose of suspense make Always the One my favorite installment of this series! Derrick and Hannah are easy to love – and so are Hannah’s mom and Hannah’s student Tommy. . . . All of this makes for a highly entertaining, charming, and sweet read you’ll enjoy from start to finish!"

"The characters are nicely developed and not always predictable. (yay!) I connected with Derrick and loved his patience most of all. Anna (Hannah) surprised me and I wasn’t as patient with her as Derrick was. I sympathized with her and Derrick both, though, and longed for them to reach their happy ever afters. . . . This is a wholesome romance with relatable characters that deal with love lost, love found, and finding a sense of belonging."

Pause for Tales - Review

"I enjoyed this story and watching Derrick pursue Hannah after all this time, to love her and want the best for her even if it meant it might not be him. That was a great sign of true love."

She tilted her head. “You weren’t serious when you said you never stopped looking for me, were you?”

He moved closer, his gaze locked on hers. “Dead serious. But my dedication only led to one disappointment after another.”

“I just…there was no one else in your life?”

He wasn’t about to admit there’d been a time when he’d almost moved on. “You’re hard to forget.” He turned to look across the room at Prescott holding court. “But I guess you had it easy getting over me.”

Splashes of Joy - Review

"The characters were realistic and there was just the right amount of mystery weaved within the romance to give this story a few Wow moments of enjoyment. This is really a sweet, clean romance. I encourage you to check out Always the One, along with the other books in the Meet Me at the Alter series by Tara Randel."

Hallie Reads - Review

"Derrick and Hannah have plenty of history to confront amidst a dose of suspense and unquestionable chemistry. It is a pleasure to see how their story occurs in Always the One, and I so enjoyed it. If you enjoy contemporary romance, like I do, I definitely recommend this book (and this series!)."

Shaking off the cold, he scanned the parking lot. Fewer students were arriving now that the last bell was about to ring before classes. A gray sedan pulled into a slot and Hannah emerged from the car, wearing the same coat as yesterday. She zigzagged through the cars as she hurried up the sidewalk to the main door. She stopped abruptly when she saw him.
“Good morning, Miss Rawley.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Working.”
“You have a job.”
“Yep. Security officer at Ponderosa Day School.”
“No,” she glanced around and stage whispered, “with the FBI.”
“I told you I wasn’t leaving until I get the entire truth out of you.” He held out his hand to shake. “Derrick Fields. Additional help until the new security system here is in full working order.”
She barely contained an eye roll.
He wanted to laugh, but couldn’t. Apparently she’d forgotten how tenacious he could be. There were holes in her story, which he was desperate to fill in. And her father leaving? Why would he do that? From what Derrick could remember, he’d doted on his wife and daughter. There was more she hadn’t revealed and he was the guy to get to the bottom of things.
And then there was the boyfriend issue. Or fiancé? He glanced down to find a bright, shiny diamond on Hannah’s ring finger. His heart lurched. Yeah, he hadn’t quite decided how to react to that piece of news.
As she passed by, he fell into step beside her. “Hannah, you have the look of a woman who has too much on her plate.  Even though you think I’m where I don’t belong or I’m a huge inconvenience, please let me hang around for a while to assure myself you’re okay. Is that too much to ask?”
They stood in the bright sunlight, eyes locked. Yesterday when his vision had been blurry, he’d missed the smattering of freckles scattered over her nose and cheeks. Standing this close reminded him of the times they would disagree and have a silent standoff until one of them conceded. The bell rang again and she blinked.
“I need to get to my students,” she said, sweeping past him to enter the building.

Book Tour Grand Finale: Trusting Her Heart by Tara Randel #THHTour

Book Tour Grand Finale for
Trusting Her Heart
By Tara Randel

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops
you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:

Launch - Note from the Author

Hello Readers! I’m so happy to be a part of this book tour featuring my newest Heartwarming novel, Trusting Her Heart, Book 3 in the Meet Me at the Altar series. The Matthews brothers are still hunting for information on the man their widowed mother is dating. They never expected their search would uncover so many secrets. . .

"You're on pins and needles while you're waiting for the big revelations to happen, because at the same time, you want Logan and Serena to be able to fall for each other in a big and honest way and to work things out. And I love the town of Golden. It sounds like a quaint place I wouldn't mind visiting one day. I am looking forward to more stories from here."

As they walked through town, it was all Logan could do not to take her hand in his. This wasn’t a date, he had to keep reminding himself. He suspected she had information about the man he’d been hired to investigate. He needed to keep his wits about him. Yes, Serena was beautiful, but she clearly had secrets he needed to ferret out.

As they passed the park, fireflies flitted about in the entrance. Serena laughed, clearly enchanted.

“Oh, my goodness.” She pulled her phone from her back pocket. “I have always wanted to do a series of cards featuring fireflies.” After snapping a few pictures, she scrolled through the gallery. “I can’t think of anything more beautiful than twinkling lights coming from these tiny creatures.”

"Trusting Her Heart is entertaining and endearing, with a town full of characters I can’t wait to spend more time with. The romance simmers with chemistry and tension, and the first kiss is hold-your-breath sweet. Randel weaves a theme of trust, belonging, friendship and family into a layered plot that will keep you absorbed in the story until you’ve reached the end. I look forward to more time with this series, the town, and the characters!"

Heidi Reads... - Excerpt

Serena pointed down. “Turned ankle.”

He kneeled down before her, his hand lightly grazing her skin as he examined the injured joint. An unwanted but undeniable shiver rushed over her. Good grief, he was only being a concerned citizen.

“I’m fine,” she told him, trying to shift away as his warm fingers palpated the bone.

“You should probably have it checked out,” he said, rising when he got the hint she didn’t want him in her personal space.

"I adored this story!!

Tara has done a wonderful job writing it. She has done an excellent job of bringing to life these wonderful characters and their feelings. Serena's especially. You could feel her fear of being found out oozing out of the book and hitting you head on. So you definitely know that there's going to be a great story here. . . . I strongly recommend this book."

"Randel is absolutely awesome with her work. Her characters, both main and secondary are wonderfully chiseled and come to life within the pages. Her ability to make the reader feel a true part of the story is incredible and I recommend this heart warming, captivating, romantic read. . ."

“What’s got her upset?” Carrie asked as she walked into their circle.

“Green-eyed monster,” Heidi quipped.

Serena sputtered over a denial that didn’t quite reach her tongue.

Carrie peered at the guests, not having to be told the topic of the conversation was Logan. “He’s not interested in her.”

Despite herself, Serena asked, “How can you tell?”

“Because I sat across the table from you two and trust me, Logan only had eyes for you.”

Hallie Reads - Review

"Trusting Her Heart is a sweet story of family and friendship, home and hope. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to charming Golden, Georgia with Serena and Logan, and I think other readers of contemporary romance will, too. Add it to the TBR!"

"What gives you the best joy of course is watching how Ms Randel knits her characters closer together at moments where they'd prefer to remain isolated, alone and single. She doesn't let them root there in their own self-pity, but rather attempts to push them towards the people who have unconditional love to share and friendship which will last longer than a rumour. This is a series that is about working through your problems, trusting in yourself to have the change to repair the past and finding a place as calm as Golden to renew your spirit as you redefine your path."

"If you enjoy Heartwarming Romance with family, friendships, and some good laughs then read this book. Some of life’s trials feel unbreakable. Some hard times have to be pushed through. Trusting Her Heart by Tara Randel is a wonderful read full of the ups and downs of life."

“I always loved Golden this time of year,” he said.

Grandmother turned in her chair to look at him. “You could love it again, you know.”

“I don’t see that happening.”

“Really? And what about Serena? Could she make you love living here again?”

He sent a sideways glance to his crafty grandmother. “Not very subtle.”

“I’m beyond subtle. I adore Serena. I see you two falling love.”

If only she knew he was halfway there.

Remembrancy - Review

"Family, friendship, and finding a place to truly call home (a place where you are surrounded by people who love you no matter what your past mistakes) are themes that run throughout Trusting Her Heart. The romance is sweet and intense, and Randel brings more characters onto the page who I hope to get to know better in future books."

E-Romance News - Excerpt

“Good night,” she said, slipping behind the wheel.

As she drove away, he was conscious of the prickly awareness he’d tried to dismiss ever since he’d met her. There was something about her he couldn’t ignore. An energy that drew him to her despite his good intentions to keep it purely professional between them. His instincts, however, told him she was going to be nothing but trouble.

Pause for Tales - Review

"I really enjoyed watching these two characters on their road to happily ever after and all the side characters just added that specialness: especially Grandmother. This was a sweet romance in a small town with a bit of family drama that made for a nice escape."

Splashes of Joy - Review

"There’s a lot going on in this book. Of course romance, but it was pretty light on the Romance, a little suspense added in, and the cozy little town where everyone knew everyone else. And they were ok with it. I really enjoyed this read, and I encourage you to pick up a copy for yourself. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did."

"I loved the grandmother in this book. She enjoyed playing matchmaker. Serena has a shop, and Logan grandmother works there. She is trying to play matchmaker between them."

Logan’s gaze wandered to Blue Ridge Cottage of its own volition. He wondered if Serena was involved with the guild. Would she be at the tea party? If so, he could use the opportunity to question her some more.

Or simply enjoy her company.

Yeah, there was that.

"Such an amazing book, with so much sweet passion and romance! . . . Her characterization is amazing and I really fell in love with Serena and Logan. If you love a really sweet romance, then this is the book for you!"

“It’s not bad. I’ve injured it before so I can tell. A little bit of ice, ibuprofen and keeping my foot up should do the trick.”
He didn’t look convinced. “You’re sure?”
“Positive.” She’d been taking care of herself for a very long time. This minor setback was no different. “What’re you doing here so early?”
“Grandmother needed a report from me. Thought I’d beat the city traffic and drive up here early.”
Was that his only reason? His unwavering attention had her guard up big-time, which was a shame. If she was going to blow her life up over a guy, Logan would make it really easy.
“Why don’t I help you get home.”
She waved him off. “It’s right here.”
He looked up. “So, you’re living over the store?”
“Yes. The apartment was empty and your grandmother was kind enough to let me move in.”
“That’s Grandmother. Always looking out for others.” His gaze caught hers, full of meaning. “That’s why I look out for her.”
Warning received. “Then we can both agree, your grandmother is special.”
His intense expression softened and a smile played around his mouth. It lit up his entire face and almost put her at ease. Almost. It was his body language that had Serena deciding to call this conversation quits.
“So, I’m going to go upstairs to get ready for work.” She inched from her position. “Thanks for checking on me.”
One dark eyebrow rose. “No way I’m going to leave you alone. I’ll follow to make sure you’re okay.”
Her inner defenses reared. “Really, go do your thing.”
He stood his ground.
“Stubborn man,” she muttered under her breath as she resumed her wobbly journey to her apartment.
“Did you say something?”
“How thoughtful of you,” she said over her shoulder.
Her reply earned her a burst of laughter.
She straightened her shoulders and gripped the railing. After only two steps, Logan swooped in beside her, his strong arm wrapped around her waist. She shot him a cool stare despite the riot going on in her stomach. He smelled way too good and was way too close for her peace of mind.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“I can’t watch you struggle. It’s too painful.”
Her voice rose as she said, “I’m the one who twisted my ankle.”
“And I’m the person who is going to make sure you don’t fall down the stairs.”
She held back an eye roll. “I’m capable.”
“No one said you weren’t.” His voice caressed her skin as his breath wafted over her cheek.
Torture. Beautiful torture. Why did she respond to this man the way she did?
