The Owner's Secret: A Secret Billionaire Romance by Kimberley Montpetit

A brutal storm. A cryptic message. A life changed . . . forever.

Melody de Leon's cozy New Orleans bookstore is her pride and joy – until a violent hurricane sweeps it all away. Forced to flee the storm by boat with her ailing grandmother, she wonders how she will ever pick up the pieces of this disaster. Then, in a fevered state, her grandmother utters a cryptic message that sets Melody on the quest of a lifetime: “Go to White Castle.”

With nothing left to lose, Melody seeks out the old mansion – a beautiful Southern relic haunted by secrets. Once there, she finds Britt Mandeville, the handsome and charming White Castle caretaker. Sparks fly, but any hopes of a relationship between them are dashed when she discovers that Britt is already spoken for. When Melody stumbles across a strange 60-year-old photograph in the house, she is determined to find answers – and the shocking revelations and strange twists of fate lead her right back to Britt. Can she put all the pieces of the puzzle together, or will family secrets and true love be lost to her forever?

Excerpt #1

“Before I forget,” Britt said, turning around on the threshold. “Here’s a key to your room. You can lock the door from inside and feel perfectly safe.”

When he handed over the old-fashioned key, Melody gave him a wan smile. “I think you are a mind-reader, sir. Thank you.”

Britt crossed the corridor toward the staircase and descended, giving her a quick glance over his shoulder. Biting at her lips, Melody closed the door lest he think she was staring at him—even though she was staring.

How did a stunning man like Britt Mandeville become a caretaker of an old house, gardening, cooking, and repairing fences? Instead, he looked like a model for a fashion magazine.

Once, again, Melody wondered why her grandmother had insisted she come to White Castle.

Britt Mandeville was an enigma and she was full of questions about the man, but her grandmother’s almost desperate plea for her presence at this strange Southern mansion was the biggest mystery of all.

Excerpt #2

Knocking with her fist, Melody called out, “Mr. Mandeville, can you help me open the door?”

She shoved against the heavy doors one more time in case he didn’t hear her—at the same moment the massive front door popped open and she fell across the threshold, tumbling against the tall, solid caretaker. Literally falling into his arms.

“Oh!” she cried out, her face growing hot when Britt Mandeville threw his arms around her so she didn’t end up flat on her face. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t get the door open. I didn’t mean to—” she stopped, his face close—too close.

A rush of sensations came over her. Melody tried not to think about the man’s hard muscles underneath the soft flannel shirt he was wearing, or his sandpaper jaw, or the pair of amazing lips so close to hers—when she had practically knocked her face into his at the moment they collided.

“You’re fine now,” Britt said, sliding his hands along her arms as he bent to look into her face. “You okay?”

“Yep. I’m fine. Perfectly fine.” Except for her racing heart and a pounding in her ears, she was calm as a summer’s morning.

"The Owner's Secret had me hooked from the very beginning. Britt Mandeville is a character who is hard to forget. Melody tries to, but all of Britt’s gentlemanly ways, and his devastatingly good looks are not helping. With the mystery of White Castle and her grandmother urging her to go there for refuge after the hurricane, Melody finds herself drawn to Britt and the strange memories surrounding the beautiful plantation mansion. I loved the mystery, the history of the southern plantation, the fun literary references, but especially the friendship and swoony romance between Britt and Melody. I didn't want to set the book down, even after I had finished the last page. Clean and swoony romance readers alike, this is one book you'll not want to miss!"

A feisty ballerina with a broken heart. A minister-in-training whose faith can work miracles. Can two strong-willed people find true love and a match made in heaven?

JESSICA & JAMES: A Love Story is a boxed collection of two romances set in Snow Valley, Montana—the saga of rising star ballerina Jessica and the sparks that fly between her and gorgeous James Douglas, the new pastor in town. This collection includes new chapters, and a Brand New Bonus Wedding novella! Suffering with a broken heart, Jessica has struggled to forgive herself for that fateful night when her childhood love was killed in a car accident. After staying away from home for years, she finally returns for Christmas and meets James Douglas who is unlike any minister-in-training she’s ever known. James can not only dish back Jessica’s finely tuned sarcasm but understands grief all too well, turning Jessica’s world and her faith upside down. Is she ready to take another risk on love? Living 2,000 miles apart proves difficult and Jessica and James' love is tested in a myriad of ways, but James can’t get the spitfire Jessica out of his mind. When she comes home to Snow Valley to accept an inheritance with her male ballet partner in tow, James and Jessica's passion for each other takes on a new edge. Clean romance with heart, and a surprise wedding you won't see coming.

A Great Love Story for everyone!

This was a very moving romance about loss and moving forward with life and forgiveness. It shows how much we can inhibit our growth after a devastating event. Recommend this collection for teens to adults, along with a few Kleenex. Have liked the Snow Valley Series. Wish it was a real place to go and visit for Christmas!

I absolutely loved this book! It is a touching & emotional story about family, friendship, love, and faith. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story of Jessica & James. A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!

All those Happily Ever After lovers out there, this is a story for you to grab, snuggle up with a comfy blanket and get lost in the love story of two characters who are not perfect but growing, healing and learning to love and be loved. Be warned that you might just be sucked into it and not want to set it down or to say goodbye to these characters once the final page has been read. I can’t recommend this one enough.

More Romance by Kimberley!

At last, she was in the sanctity of her own bedroom – a tousle of strewn clothes, unopened mail, and dishes from late night snacks sitting on the nightstand. Unfortunately, with the grueling Swan Lake ballet schedule, she hadn’t had time to properly clean her apartment in a month.

Fifteen minutes later she was dressed in jeans, a cute yellow sweater and brown suede boots with her hair pulled off her face, tendrils of curls popping out along the sides.

“You will have to take me as I am, James Douglas,” Jessica said out loud, searching for her handbag under the couch pillows.

“And that’s just how I like you,” a deep, male voice said at the door. “Every which way you are every, single day.”

It was James, standing tall, fresh and perfect in her foyer, although overdressed in a gray woolen overcoat like the Pastor Dude he was. At least that’s what Jessica’s eighteen-year-old brother, Sam, called him. Jessica sucked in a breath, trying not to swoon at how good James—her James—looked.

“How’d you get in the door?”

“I knocked,” he confessed. “But I spotted your car outside and then discovered the front door wasn’t locked, so I took the liberty of coming in.”

He smiled and his beautiful crystal blue eyes knocked Jessica over like they always did. Her stomach shot into her throat at the sight of him and her heart began to race. Every single time.

“I probably didn’t hear you from the sanctity of the shower.”

He came closer, closing the front door behind him. “I didn’t try the handle on your bedroom door. I do have discipline even if it was a temptation. But one of these days, Jessica,” he added with a murmur.

“I didn’t think pastors of God ever got tempted,” she teased, a delicious shiver running down her neck when he ran his warm hands along her bare arms.

“We just pray a lot.” Jessica’s mouth quirked up and they grinned at each other before he gave her a long, slow kiss.
